Gameloft’s $80 Duo Gamer Controller Is Now Just $6 On Amazon

Remember Gameloft’s $80 Duo Gamer Controller? It was launched in October 2012 and it brought physical controls to our favorite Gameloft games on iOS — but it had a number of major flaws. The biggest one was that it was only compatible with Gameloft games, and that made its $80 price tag all the more bemusing.

But it’s not such a bad purchase at $6.36, which is all you’ll pay for it on Amazon right now.

If you’re a big fan of Gameloft games, then you might find the Duo Gamer’s new price tag a bit of a steal. It makes titles like Modern Combat, Real Football, and N.O.V.A. all the more enjoyable, and it means you don’t have to tackle virtual controls inside games that don’t really work well with them.

But bear in mind that it is only compatible with Gameloft titles — and only a select few of them. It’s also worth noting that when iOS 7 comes out this fall, it will bring with it baked-in support for physical controllers, which means we’ll see approved gamepads compatible with lots of titles — not just a select few from certain developers.

In my post on acne  I mentioned how much money I used to spend on skincare products. It was absurd. But that’s the genius of marketing. Neutrogenia, Noxema, Clinique, all of these companies have you convinced (with their super happy teens dancing around with super clear skin) that their cleanser or toner or moisurizer is going to cure your acne.
'Flappy Bird' Makes $50,000 A Day: Will Nintendo Take Notice?
I’m not normally one to suggest companies take legal action over IP infringement, if only because I think our system encourages overreaction. For instance, I think the entire saga of  Candy Crush Saga creator King trademarking words like “candy” and “saga” and then preventing games like  The Banner Saga from trademarking their own game’s title is absurd.
